CBT for Health Related Issues

Alongside working with more generalised psychological difficulties Pam works and specialises in therapeutic and rehabilitative management of multiple chronic health conditions.  Pam has worked with a plethora of different physical health disorders from life limiting genetic disorders to medically unexplained functional disorders.

Where applicable, safe, and appropriate, Pam helps with any rehabilative strategies for the recovery from chronic health issues where this is realistic to do so.

Where recovery is not possible, Pam helps people with rehabilitation for the management and slowing of their condition and/or symptoms.  She can also help with the management of deconditioning associated with reduced movement and activity.

Alongside any rehabilitive strategies, Pam helps with the emotional distress that physical limitations can burden people with.  She helps detangle any emotional issues that might be behaving as accelerator factors, worsening a person’s symptoms and making them more difficult to live with.

Pam helps people that are living with chronic conditions connect with their values, and aides them to move forward with positive steps around the things that they can control, whilst helping them achieve a more peaceful relationship with the symptoms they can’t control.
